Mount Storm is a small unincorporated community located in Grant County, West Virginia, United States. It is situated in the eastern part of the state, approximately 130 miles west of Washington, D.C.
The community was named after the nearby Mount Storm Lake, which was named after a settler named David Sturm. Mount Storm is known for its proximity to the Bayard Conservation Area, which offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping.
Mount Storm is also home to the largest wind farm in West Virginia, which has 132 turbines that generate enough energy to power more than 66,000 homes. The mountainous terrain and strong winds in the area make it an ideal location for wind energy production.
In terms of demographics, the Mount Storm population is primarily white and the median household income is below the national average. The community is located in a rural area and has a small-town feel.
